Water confidence

The new Bill Morley Seamanship Training Aids Facility at Devonport Naval Base is enabling new sailors to gain the skills and confidence they need on the water, on land.

The purpose-built $4.5m facility saves time and money and helps to mitigate the safety risks of training at sea with realistic training on berthing, slipping, anchoring and working at heights.

The building that houses the facility is named after Lieutenant Commander (retired) Bill Morley who served for 40 years as both a Gunnery Instructor and an officer.
