NZDF Defence Estate and Infrastructure to seek Alliance partner
May 03 2019
NZDF is a step closer to forming a strategic partnership following recent approval to establish an Alliance to help the organisation with the Defence Estate Regeneration Programme (DERP).
NZDF will soon begin the formal procurement process with an initial open Registration of Interest (ROI) being advertised on the Government Electronic Tender Service (GETS) next month.
“This is a major step forward for us,” DEI Head of Estate and Infrastructure Mark Brunton says.
“Working with a strategic partner will enable us to transform the way we do business and help us provide an Estate that is innovative, flexible, responsive, relevant and sustainable. Providing the right infrastructure in the right locations that is safe, modern and of a high standard is important to support Defence personnel and their work.”
An Alliance will help maximise the benefits and value for money from investment in the Defence Estate and will be critical in increasing the efficiency and effectiveness of our asset management. It will also help us improve the quality of New Zealand’s military capability by matching assets to modern military operational and training needs.
The ROI will be advertised on GETS (GETS 20428631) week commencing 20 May. Following evaluation of responses to the ROI, a closed Request for Proposal (RFP) will be issued to selected, qualified respondents and a successful bidder will then be chosen.
