New Alliance approach for NZDF in partnership with industry
June 01 2017
The NZDF has announced that it will progress a new business model to improve its capacity and capability in the delivery of both estate management and the Estate Regeneration Programme. This will be based on an Alliance approach with industry partners.
We will be looking to engage in a long-term alliance with one or more partners to provide, in partnership with NZDF, the additional expertise and capability to deliver the required outcomes.
A significant programme of work is being progressed to regenerate the Defence estate. This will provide modern, high quality camps, bases and training facilities that are fit-for-purpose, multifunctional and able to support future capability. Working closely with one or more industry partners will provide NZDF with the extra capability required to deliver on the regeneration work within the required timeframes, while also optimising on-going management of the estate.
A formal procurement process will shortly be undertaken, commencing with a Registration of Interest listing on GETS in July. From this a short list of prospective partners will be invited to respond to a formal Request for Proposal. It is anticipated that a decision on the preferred Alliance approach will be available in early 2018.
This new operating model presents an exciting opportunity for both the NZDF and for industry to work together to provide an estate fit for our Defence Force into the future.
